Stories

that we did not see growing up on screens. Stories that reflected our own experiences and shaped who we are today.

Born during our formative years at university, TAMARIND is a Texas based collective founded by a group of multicultural filmmakers with the primary goal of telling new stories from new perspectives.
Now almost a decade later, founders Sunny Perera and Thomas Farmer continue to cultivate TAMARIND into a platform that promotes the collective stories that have yet to be heard. Stories that have been around our cultures for decades but seldom given a platform to be expressed.
Works that connect outside our own borders and carry weight beyond our individual selves. TAMARIND strives to be at the forefront of what we believe will become the next era of film: an era bound by unheard perspectives, connecting audiences both far and wide.

Creating projects exceptional in craft and grounded in emotion. With hearts on our sleeves and a voice that is unapologetically us.

As a full-service production collective, TAMARIND has told stories through films, documentaries, commercials and music videos. Some of which have even picked up a few awards along the way.

Our partnerships with brands, organizations, and institutions have allowed us to build work that stand for deeper connections, stronger values and continued engagement within the audiences they are destined for. Some of our past collaborations include AARP, University of North Texas, The State of Black Design and many others.

With grand ambitions and glass ceilings yet to be broken, TAMARIND aims to grow the collective in pursuit of bolder opportunities while expanding our platform in the process. By telling our stories, we hope to spark conversations that enrich, inspire, and amplify the next generation of storytellers.
